Why this parade matters

A salute to our heroes, right here in Albany.

Albany is designated a regional Veterans Town USA, and it has hosted continuous Armistice and Veterans Day celebrations since 1919. The full Linn County Veterans Day Parade has run annually since 1951, which makes this year's parade, the 75th, a true community landmark.

The 2026 parade carries the theme "Salute to Our Heroes" as the nation marks the 250th birthday of America. Whether you live in the Willamette Valley or you are visiting from out of state, there is no better way to show the families who served that their hometown remembers them.

A tradition since 1919

🏆 Join us downtown to salute a hometown tradition! 🇺🇸

There is something special about watching this parade from the sidewalks of historic downtown Albany. The route fills with military vehicles, marching bands, floats, classic cars, and proud contingents of service members and veterans, all cheered on by a crowd that often reaches 45,000 or more. Along the way, food carts line the route, so you can grab a warm bite while you wait for the next group to pass by.

Plan to arrive early, about 30 to 60 minutes before the 11:11 AM start, so you can find parking and claim a good spot along the route. November weather in the Willamette Valley can be cold and rainy, so dress in layers and bring rain gear or an umbrella. The parade goes on rain or shine, and it is absolutely worth it.

Come say hello if you see us out there. Christine and the Broker Duo Team love being part of the community moments that make the Mid-Willamette Valley home, and honoring our veterans is one of the most meaningful of the year. Finding your way home starts with a community that takes care of its own, and this is Albany at its very best.

🎄 Join us for the Community Tree Lighting in historic downtown Albany! ⭐

Operation Christmas Tree is a volunteer-driven initiative that brings holiday cheer to historic downtown Albany each year, and the 2026 Community Tree Lighting is the celebration that starts it all. On Saturday, November 28, 2026, from 2:00 to 8:00 PM, the Albany Downtown Association invites everyone to gather downtown as the season officially begins: the Community Christmas Tree, festive events, holiday music, good cheer, and Santa himself. 🎅

Because the celebration falls on Small Business Saturday, it is a perfect day to make a full downtown afternoon of it. Shop the independent storefronts, grab a bite at a local restaurant or cafe, and then gather with neighbors as the lights come on. It is the kind of day that reminds you why downtown Albany is such a special place to live, work, and visit. 💗

One of the loveliest traditions of the season: personalized ornaments with names on them are displayed on the light poles along Ellsworth and Lyon Streets throughout the holiday season. Take a stroll, find the names of friends and neighbors, and watch the downtown glow from one end of the block to the other.

Come say hello if you see us out there. Christine and the Broker Duo Team love being part of the community moments that make the Mid-Willamette Valley home, and this celebration is Albany at its coziest. Finding your way home starts with a community that gathers together like this. 👋
